Early 2016 CIT Electrical delivered a unique tailored program for Australian Border Force to address risk mitigation around electronic safety of current marine communications Technical Officers on board operating naval vessels. The 3 day non-accredited training program was designed in partnership with ABF officers and CIT Electrical Trades specialist teaching staff utilising sate of the art industry specific training facilities at CIT Fyshwick.
Renewable Energy Skills - Centre of Excellence - certified training delivered by CIT
CIT works closely on a range of joint industry and government projects to prepare and upskill individuals for work within the local national and international high-tech wind and solar power industries. The purpose behind this progressive and flexible high risk delivery model is to identify, customise and deliver industry specific operational and WHS information. This enables CIT to value-add to the crucial base entry work safely at heights training and mandatory learning requirements, upholding the GWO mission to support injury-free working environments in the wind, solar, land management and construction industries.
CIT High Risk currently provides training to the following industry developers: BLOC, Milin, PBS, Hindmarsh and Richard Crookes. Local Government departments and universities include Transport Canberra and City Services (TCCS) and ANU with niche training models being developed and initiated for specialist organisations such as NASA at the Tidbinbilla tracking station, Neoen and Siemans.
Community Health Sciences – Community Work
CIT Community Work specialist educators responded to a request from St Vincent De Paul's Society Canberra to address the need for conformity in staff professional report writing addressing mandatory auditing processes. St Vincent De Paul Society Staff were supported through a half day workshop covering; reporting processes, mandatory and legal reporting requirements, writing succinctly without personal bias or subjectivity. The overall objective - create a clear appreciation of the legal requirement for consistent reporting process within the organisation.
Human Services - Aged Care
CIT have worked closely in collaboration with executive Age Care community living staff to design a unique accredited professional learning program to support staff self-empowerment. The program design provides a blended learning approach allowing staff to complete assessment tasks and achieve competence while administering to their workplace responsibilities. Resources and study material are provided via the CIT online environment enabling easy access for staff to complete assessments during workshop time, at home or in the workplace. Students have access to specialist ESL support during all face-to-face workshops with additional assistance available via online correspondence and/or email with CIT facilitators throughout the duration of the course.
Yurauna Indigenous Education Ctr. & Human Services - Disability Support
With the introduction of NDIS, engagement with community is paramount.
Working with Nous Consulting CIT have designed and facilitated delivery of a half day workshop aimed at supporting mainstream NDIS service providers engage with their indigenous workforce and client base. CIT Yurauna and CIT Human Services have supported this introductory program with a niche suite of workshops for the Disability Sector with the purpose of providing 'action tools' to strengthen its ability to:
- engage, retain and support indigenous employees
- engage with indigenous clients in relation to the NDIS and/or other aspects of community support.
